THE INFINITY OF LANGUAGE: THE MEETING OF FOUR JEWISH SCHOOLS IN THE LAUDER SCHOOL LIBRARY

2018. április 17.

The ECL-Lauder National Hebrew Language Competition was held on 11 March 2018 and saw fifty students and 10 teachers from four schools convene in the Lauder school's library. The competition had four award categories. Lauder students performed well once again.

Based on the experiences of last year, the competition has inspired 20% more students to choose Hebrew as a third language in our school. Based on the feedback, it has become evident that the competition is an important part of the lives of the schools; students await it, and since last year, many entered the competition again at a higher level, giving themselves an incentive to develop.

The first three places of all the award categories received a free chance to take a language exam, and almost everyone could take home gift books and certificates. All categories saw a student from another school in first place - there was real playful competition, with some results simply too close to call.
The participants were greeted by middle school principal Kinga Mahr, head organizer Kriszta Papp-Kovács, and ECL representative Johanna Felcser.
The competition was open, anyone interested could come in a listen to the students. Each teacher was prompting their own students, and at the end, the important and difficult decisions were made together.
